Ian & Anne

make me happy.

I wanted to wrap up this week's theme of the final days of summer with a post about the most magnificent dinner party which Kevyn and I had the pleasure of attending last week.

Ian, pictured above, and his wife Anne were our hosts, and to say they spoiled us would be an understatement.

From the pink prosecco to the mimolette, the dancing light from the candelabras to the personalized place mats, the stuffed pork loin to the 1994 Rubicon and the other six wonderfully entertaining and diverse guests, the evening was sheer genius.

I know, I know, you're all like "Show us the photos!"

Oh how I would love to show you the photos but, I've lost them!?!

Can you feel my pain? Want to know something even more painful? I can see brief glimpses of them as thumbnails in my iphoto but can't locate them ANYWHERE!

I'm trying to stay calm and discern the deeper message here, but I'd be lying if I said it doesn't burn a little right now.

I'll leave you with my words, your imagination, and this song to try and get a full understanding of the time we had at the party.

Our deepest gratitude.

I'm so sorry to hear you lost your photos. Quite frankly, I don't remember you taking many, but that may just be testament to your ninja-like stealth.

It was so nice to see you guys! I agree, the mix of people worked really well.

Let's not wait so long to do it again.

Did anyone else take photos that maybe you can have copies of?

My cousin's house was broken into and her camera was stolen. It had all the photos she had of the camping trip with her dad just weeks before he passed away.
