Dressing On A Dime

makes me happy.

Up until this trip down south I had not bought any new clothes, getting by with a bella band and one pair of maternity jeans my sister handed down to me.

Unfortunately those two simple items did not have it in them to carry me alone any further.

Now, as I plan on returning to my pre-pregnancy shape and size as soon as possible after giving birth, I have no desire to spend a ton of money on clothes I will on be wearing for a couple of months.

So outlet shopping I went. This little number above is a perfect example of what you can get for $28 at an outlet store if you're willing to forgo trying it on or returning it.

Worked out alright, yes?

And while I've never been a tights wearing kinda gal, perhaps due to the years I spent in them while performing gymnastics or running around the track, all of a sudden they seemed to make an incredibly cheap and chic alternative to the majority of maternity pants out there.

A few new pairs of wedge sandals were my biggest splurge as I'm all about elongating and find them as easy to walk in as sneakers.

The red and white thing is a dress, as seen here...

that I used to be able to wear done up. Now, left unbuttoned and tied in the back it adds a hit of colour to a simple outfit.

More tights, wedges, and another item from my regular wardrobe that had some space to share.

Wedges, a stretchy top that I picked up for $5.99 and my only maternity store purchase - black capris that sit under my belly.

I little ditty from H&M! Hard to go wrong with those prices.

And thin, stretchy tees from Forever 21 have to be my most comfortable and favourite purchase of all.

Yet still, nothing makes me feel more beautiful then walking around with this guy on my arm.

Week 23 & Mix 'n' Match Bikinis

make me happy.

Our trip down south landed on my 23rd week of pregnancy.

Between my love of the water, my enthusiasm for fashion and being born a Pisces... I'm a bit of a bikini whore.

Although I have been feeling marvelous during this pregnancy for the most part, this is the most I've ever weighed in my life, and while I was planning on only having my belly grow, my arms, legs and face decided to get in on the action too.

And what's a girl to do?

Well - how about, accept my hearty appetite, continue to feed it with nutritious whole foods...

and welcome new bikinis of a larger size, that I can mix 'n' match, into my life with open arms!

Returning Worry Free

makes me happy.

Kev and I returned yesterday evening from our glorious trip in Mexico to an interesting greeting at airport. Upon leaving the baggage claim we found my dad who had come to pick us up (Kev says there's nothing better then having a familiar face meet you at the airport), waiting with a member from The Canadian Press.

She was a lovely young lady who wanted to ask us about our knowledge, feelings, and reactions to the swine flu.

Based on the typical overly dramatic and excessively paranoid stories the media tends to produced...

I guessing we weren't exactly the fish she was hoping to catch.

No, we're weren't worried about catching it.

Yes, we thought the authorities were taking all the necessary precautions.

No, we weren't paranoid that anyone on our plane was carrying the virus.

And yes, we do think the 1300 mile distance between Mexico City and Cancun, where we were arriving from, was great enough to put our minds very much at ease.

It's not that we don't want to be educated...

and make educated decisions...

but what we are saying is,

as this flu outbreak began while we were already IN Mexico...

how is worrying about it...

going to prevent us from catching it.

Last time I checked, there was no evidence supporting the theory that...

the more one worries, the more one is able to ward off that which one is worrying about.

Until they are able to prove such a theory true, I'm going to stick with The Law of Attraction.

Focusing on all my blessings, grateful for my health, thankful for the magnificent week I just experienced and hoping to attract more of that into my life.

Why We Came To Mexico

makes me happy.

To celebrate love of course!

To be even more specific...

about 40 of us...

flew down to celebrate...

Fitzroy & Meghan's love!

It's a beautiful thing - no doubt about it.

The Minutia

makes me happy.

A few weeks ago, while chatting with my girlfriends Emma and Sammy about life as a pregnant lady, I think I must have mentioned that the only sort of craving I was having was for a sandwich. I wasn't even sure if it was a craving or just smart marketing on Subway's behalf, but whenever a sandwich commercial came on I would think, "Now that looks tasty."

Well I didn't give in and rush out to Subway, or really give it much more thought until I showed up at Emma's for dinner last night.

Guess what she made?

A sandwich FEAST! Five different kinds of lovely, handmade, tasty sandwiches filled with fresh and creative ingredients.

Amazing how a small trivial detail mentioned in passing could turn into such a gesture of love.

Cheers to that and my amazing friends.

This Guy

makes me happy.

For the almost eleven years we've been together I've seen Kevyn grow more and more selfless with each and every single one.

It seems the pregnancy has exponentially compounded that growth.

About a hundred times a day he'll ask me...

"What can I do for you?"

You do it all for me baby. You do it all.

Willing The Leftovers Into Her Mouth

makes me happy.

I really don't like it when Cash begs and feel no way about telling her to hit the road. She knows I don't like it too, so rarely will she sit in front of me and hope for a hand out.

It doesn't bother me as much when she sits in front of inanimate objects and hopes for a hand out. In fact I almost find it amusing.

Use the force Luke Cash, use the force.

Creating My Own Snapshot Of Success

makes me happy.

I read this Ernie Zelinski quote today while riding the subway and think my inside voice might have blurted out "Oh yeah!" aloud.

The most creative shortcut to success is to reevaluate what success means to you.

I think I figured out this one a few years back when I discovered it wasn't things that made me happy.

No - somehow I kept failing to see how a luxury car, a big house or designer brands could fill my heart with joy. So, I took the time to ask myself what did success mean to me. What was it I was really striving for in life, that once achieved, would allow me to feel like a success.

I'm sure, if we all did this simple exercise, of defining what success means to each of us personally, we'd all have different definitions. And that's a good thing!

I won't bore you with my entire definition but I will say, it does include the word time a lot more then it does the word thing, and relationships more then money.

And true to the quote - I became an overnight success.

make me happy.

What are Seggs you ask?

Sex, followed by eggs = Seggs.

For example...

Stacy - "Hey baby, wanna have some seggs?"

Kevyn - "Do I?!?"

While I'll let you use your own imagination and creativity for the sex portion of your Seggs, I would like to share with you my latest and most favourite way to prepare the egg portion.

Chop up 1/2 a white onion, one red bell pepper, one orange bell pepper, toss in olive oil and pan fry until onions are light golden.

Chop up 1 head of broccoli into very small pieces and toss into pan with onion and peppers. Add 2 cups of baby spinach.

Stir until spinach wilts and broccoli softens a bit.

Chop 4 hard boiled eggs into the mix. Stir and remove from heat.

Split into 2 bowls, top with a wee bit of grated cheddar cheese and hot sauce, and then satisfy that healthy appetite you just created!

Seggs - get sacking!

The Fitz

makes me happy.

This past Saturday my brother Andy and I threw a stag for our best friend Fitzroy. Since the second day of the ninth grade we knew this friendship would be eternal. Being around Fitzroy is easy, his conversation always interesting, his sense of humour priceless, his laugh infectious and his love... is felt.

Over the years we have made friends independently from our relationship and I had the pleasure of meeting many of them on Saturday. It was no surprise they were all great guys who share the same qualities as of our man of honour.

A few bottles of wine and dinner at Veritas began our evening...

before we stepped out and headed off to the Drake Hotel!

While at the Drake I ran into a Best Life Ever reader. Hello Again! Hope I didn't ruin your impression of me as the tequila, vodka and red bull were flowing by this point - I suppose felt it apropos to relive my teenage years drinking like one. Sunday was messy.

Somehow we made to Revival and drank some more...

got caught in a manwich with Fitz and his brother Jeffery...

and I think we even managed to hit the dance floor.

Have I ever mentioned how much I love sneeking in other people photographs? Well I do, and apparently so does Krista. Nice squeeze K.

I'd end with a photo of Fitz if I had one, but I seem to have lost him by this point in the night but, this guy sums up the night pretty well... awesome.

Looking forward to standing up for you at the wedding my friend. You have found your a soul mate in Meagan. I love you... man.

See you on the beach.
