Burgers & Burt

makes me happy.

I'm not a big red meat eater. In my usual, without child state, I tend to indulge only once a month or so. That being the case, we rarely prepare it at home, opting instead to enjoy it when dining out, prepared by the professionals.

Since pulling out the barbeque a couple of weeks ago, my with child state, has had a little hankering for homemade burgers. As I can count on one hand the number of times I've cooked ground beef in my life - I was a little lost as to what to do.

Thank goodness for Google! It only took entering in a few keywords before I learned my options for jazzing up a homemade burger were endless. Off to the fridge I went, pulling all my favourite ingredients that I saw in any number of different recipes, and created my own.

That was the fun part. Mixing it all together with my hands... not so much. Yeah, there's no which way about it, those are animal tissues.

Anyhoo - once I get beyond that, we end up with The Stacy Burger!

At which time they are handed over to the grill master...

and we invite Laura Burt over to enjoy with us!

Laura is as much of a treat as the burgers. She always shows up full of life, hilarious stories, and last night, bearing gifts as well...

Snuggies for everyone! Seriously... she brought us Snuggies. Don't be hatin'!

Hard to beat a Thursday in mid-May like this, eh?

Life, she be good.

Looks good! Big, juicy with lots of flavor and fresh ingredients.
I don't eat the red too often either, but I do enjoy my burgers.
Looks like summer!

I have started thinking in Best-Life-Ever-Speak.

After a warm night last night with my windows wide open I woke up and the first thing I thought was "Removing a layer of blankets makes me happy".

I'm jealous of your Snuggies! I'd offer to trade you a couple of my ShamWows for one, but I have the feeling you wouldn't consider it a fair trade :)

I'm not either! Have you tried Turkey burgers? My mom stuffs them with mozzarella cheese, basil and other goodies. They are so good!
