Balls

make me happy.

I was thinking more about those older bathroom photos I was talking about yesterday and knew I had seen one kicking around recently.

Ahhh, yes. There it was, in one of Kev's Facebook albums.

Must have been a little nipple - y in there that day?!?

It's funny how it turns up so small here after pulling it off Facebook. That's okay, less detail may be a good thing. Maybe I should be practicing more modesty now that I'm a mom?

Maybe?

Maybe not.

I love the human body. Boobs, bums, legs, arms, backs, necks, nipples - they're all cool by me.

No need for embarrassment. As Greg Focker would remind us: "Oh, you can milk just about anything with nipples. "

And Jack Byrnes would reply : "I have nipples, Greg, could you milk me? "

Happy Friday.

Empty Spaces

make me happy.

Kev and lived in the basement of this house 5 years ago, right around the time we got married.

It was shortly after our marriage that I began candidly capturing our life together with my camera.

I believe I have quite a few shots of us in this mirror from back then, very simaliar to the shot above that I took today, and I thought it would be fun to share them.

No can do. Those photos are stored on The Beast (our 2003 eMac). And The Beast is part of a whole pile of STUFF that I keep moving around. From this basement, to that garage. This storage unit, to that crawl space.

And that's exactly what I was going to do after I snapped that photo. To move more STUFF around.

Not much drives me nuts.

Complaining drives me nuts.

And STUFF drives me nuts.

In other news... look who was rockin' the middle peak this afternoon?!?

Yeeaahh.

Our New Family Room

makes me happy.

The renovations are still trucking along nicely.

My dad is constantly working on the house,

Kev is working on it whenever he's not out making money,

and I work on it during Byrd naps on days I'm not working and the bar.

Rob comes over and helps out a lot.

And Sandy usually pops over whenever he can.

There are certain things that really need to get done before the cold weather hits but, I begged and pleaded for our new family room to be completed before Edison arrived so I would have somewhere to entertain Byrdie and Evan while she and Kelly got some shut eye.

And by the magic of team work, Kev sent me this photo of mom doing the final sweep mere hours before baby Eddy arrived.

I feel like I'm playing with Superbowl Champions over here!

Now, everyone back outside and finish up that middle peak!

Deb's Cottage

makes me happy.

When you're pregnant, and going to the doctor what feels like every other day, you get asked a lot, "Date of your last menstrual period?"

Mine was October 24th 2008.

Two years ago yesterday.

Shortly after that date I became pregnant with Byrdie.

Two years later, shy a couple of weeks, Byrdie and I spent our first night apart as I took off for a 24 hour jaunt to my good friend Deb's cottage.

Exercises were enjoyed...

as was fresh cottage air.

Chit chatting while dinner came together...

and sipping of the champagne.

General silliness,

and frolic.

It was nice to know Kevyn had everything under control,

that was out of my control.

So I kicked my leg(s) up...

and relaxed.

Edison Grace

makes me happy.

As my sister Kelly was set and scheduled for a planned c-section today at 11am,

we thought it made good sense to snap a couple photos of her and the belly yesterday morning.

Yeah well, in retrospect, I got very lucky waiting soon long before taking these pics.

It just never crossed my mind that my new baby niece may come early.

But she did. Not much earlier. Only a few hours really. But early enough for momma to have contraction 2mins apart, be 6cm dialated, and have baby be well down the birth canal before they got her on the operating table.

But at 5:25am, using a little more of a aggressive measures to retrieve her from the canal (resulting in some serious baby bruises that apparently looks worse then it feels), a healthy, 6lbs 7 oz baby girl, joined our family.

We couldn't be happier!

Love you baby Eddy.

* FYI, my sister went into labour on the her scheduled date with both children. Pretty cool, eh?

makes me happy.

And I want for nothing.

And Then We Went To The Tree

makes me happy.

After dinner a few of us headed over to visit the tree which we planted in honour of our friend Lenworth's passing.

It was five years ago on October 11th.

Feels like a million years ago and like yesterday all at the same time.

It doesn't seem as though there are as many vivid pictures of him in my mind anymore but, all the feelings are still there.

Love. Joy. Peace. Compassion.

Being there always brings them to the surface. Which is wonderful.

And then I began playing the very fun game of, Get Everyone In Timer Shot.

Vicki was pulling us down.

But making us laugh hysterically while doing it.

It was a good night.

A Sensitive Funny Bone

makes me happy.

I went out with the girls for some Italian on Saturday night.

All day Sunday...

I found Kevyn's jokes quite hilarious.

At some point I told him how funny I thought he was being and asked him,

"Are you going to be funny all day?"

To which he responded,

"Depends. Are you going to be hungover all day?"

Apparently I'm an easy audience when all cylinders aren't firing at 100%.

The New Date Night

makes me happy.

Kev and I had the luxury of grocery shopping together earlier this evening.

As there were two of us, and my sister is about to pop with the newest family member in a week, we grabbed Evan and hit the town picked up some groceries.

So

much

fun!

Have I told you before how everyone always thinks Byrdie & Evan are twins?

And usually, as it's Kelly and I who are shopping together, people think we are lesbians and are always curious who had the babies and are happily surprised when they notice we are expecting again.

'They're soooooo 2010.' Their eyes say with every double-take.

But when we're out with Kev, well then people think the kids are just the regular kind of twins.

I'm always quick to correct,

informing them the kids are cousins, not twins.

Kevyn took a new approach today, telling people...

"No they're not twins,

they're dating."

Like I said, fun.
