A Full Five

makes me happy.

My goodness, I've got a lot of photos from the last few days.

Which usually means I've been having a lot of fun.

Very true in this case.

Please note how long it took my daughter to lower her right arm.

I'm thinking she was not diggin' the feel of sparkly thread.

Or maybe she really just doesn't like to wear dresses?!?

Either way, it's been a fun five days.

Lots of photos to come.

In other news, both Kevyn and I are currently embarking on new endeavors to create other streams of income.

In turn making our hot tub sessions full of funny and interesting conversations.

Ohhh, hot tub. My life wouldn't be the same without you.

Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

makes me happy.

Kelly and I thought we'd be all clever and get the kids to see Santa as early in the season as possible.

Still, the mall was insane!

And the parking lot?!?

Ahhh, the parking lot where I stood fumbling with my stroller that wouldn't unfold...

for 10 minutes, waving on the 20 or so cars that stopped thinking I was trying to pack up rather then unpack, hoping to snag my spot.

"No, no! Keep going! I'm just a fumbling idiot who can't unfold her stroller!"

A test of patience indeed.

But we get inside. Folded stroller and all.

And we have time to try and unfold it while we stand in line.

Kelly pulling one end, me pulling the other, mom chasing the kids.

Then there was Santa!

And tears.

Let the holiday season begin! Looks like it's going to be a good one.

103°

makes me happy.

Every night that Kevyn and I have off together,

we bathe, read to, and get Byrdie in bed by 8pm.

By 8:02pm we're usually sitting in the hot tub,

Kev with a Duvel, myself with a rock glass of The Infamous Goose Sauvignon Blanc.

We touch, watch the moon, talk, laugh,

connect.

If someone knows a better way of winding down you need to share, because in my humble opinion, this particular way...

rocks.

9:41 Being The New Midnight

makes me happy.

I don't know what to say.

It's 9:41pm and...

I'm spent.

Life is beautiful. Wonderful. Exciting.

And exhausting.

So I go to bed early and look forward to doing it all again.

Nothing better then a little planning.

The Relationship Shot

makes me happy.

This morning I got out my good camera (Canon EOS10D) in hopes of capturing a few shots of my wee niece Edison.

While I did manage to get a couple sweet ones, our time together kept getting interrupted by...

these two!

These two hams who couldn't even sit still for one second because they were having too much fun goofing around with each other.

Which got me thinking about an interesting fact I just read in John Medina's Brain Rules for Baby.

The book was discussing a 75 year study on what made people happy.

And, after 75 years of extensive research the findings could be summed up like this...

"The only thing that really matters in life are your relationships to other people."

That's right. Not even money made the cut.

"Money increases happiness only when it lifts people out of poverty to about the mid-five figures. Past $50, 000 per year income, wealth and happiness part ways."

Can I still call this one the money shot though?

Happy, happy Friday!

Exploring My New Space

makes me happy.

I'm just starting to spread my wings in our new living room.

Basically, what that means is, I'm learning where and how I can stretch and exercise.

So far... real good.

Track Suit Beauties

make me happy.

Well lo and behold, there were even more photos in my inbox yesterday!

These ones were from my sister in-law Joy (above), who sent me the photos below of an early Christmas celebration we had on Sunday.

I love this photo because it's cold hard proof that I have put a dress on my daughter.

And I love this one even more because these two munchkins looked like absolute dolls in their matching Puma track suits.

Now, maybe I should get my camera fired up again!

Izzy

makes me happy.

I try to post photos here that only Kevyn or I have taken.

Having said that, I've barely opened my computer today, let alone unload my camera on to it, so I was tickled pink when these couple photos arrived in my inbox today from this little angels mom.

Me and baby Izzy!

Love.

And look, I can kinda, sorta tie my hair back these days!

Cool.

Our Multi-Purpose Vechicle

makes me happy.

Rumour has it, that the forklift may be leaving the property soon.

Which means,

a few departing photos...

were in order.

Thank you forklift, you've served us well.

Off into the sunset with you.

My Mom

makes me happy.

She also makes me laugh. Hard.

So my mom is currently in Florida with two of her girlfriends and this is the email she sent my dad yesterday.

Hi:

How are you.

Well it could only happen to me, Shirley and Audrey went to a store across the street this morning, so I thought I would take a nice long shower and wash my hair. How was I to know that the bathroom lock was on the outside of the door. So I had my shower it was very hot and steamy in there so I thought I would open the door.

Well low and behold it was locked from the outside. I was sweating like a pig, I said to myself don't panic. I tried opening the door with my all the things I had in my makeup bag, no luck!

I started banging on the door and yelling , nobody came. It's now been 15minutes. I sat on the toilet thinking what the hell do I do now. Another 5 minutes go by, I hear the maid shout hello, I start banging on the door and yelling, she finally hears me. I tell her I'm locked in, and to open the lock from the outside. She finally understands what I saying and opens the door.

I run out like a mad woman, and say "Who the hell puts a lock on the outside of the bathroom?!?" She must think I'm nuts, my hair is all wet and sweating like crazy. She keeps saying she's so sorry, and gets two guys to come up and fix it. They say we thought we had to break a hole in the wall to get me out, we are all now laughing our heads off.

Well it does not end there. When I finally got myself together, I went down to the front desk, to tell my story, they say they are so sorry. Shirley says I should sue them, anyway I would just put that down to bad karma.

So just as we are going out to dinner, the manager calls, Shirley answers, he asks for me, she tells him she does not know if I am able to come to the phone because of all the drama. I answer the phone.

He tells me he heard my story and he's so sorry. He then says he understands we are going to the Olive Garden for dinner and to please bring him the bill and he will pay for my dinner. At dinner I order all this food so Audrey and Shirley can share. And when I get back to the room there is a chilled bottle of wine and beautiful glasses on a silver tray , with a note saying 'Ellen we are so sorry, please enjoy the wine.'

Thanks for the forward dad.

My A ++ Dog

makes me happy.

The other night I took Cash for a walk by myself.

Just her and I.

She was awesome. Sometimes I forget how awesome she is.

Not that night. I knew how awesome she was and kept telling her...

"You're my A++ dog!" I kept telling her and smacking her on the ass.

She was happy.

Today in the park she told this black lab who was boss.

"I'm the boss!" she said.

Evan thought it was funny.
