Our Afternoon Of Pumpkin Carving

makes me happy.

I think it's fun to observe how pumpkin carving really plays out around here.

Clearly some of us have longer attention spans then others.

I'm looking at you too Kevyn and Kelly ;)

Not Being Overly Fearful

makes me happy.

I had a very funny group texting moment this morning with my sister and two of our girlfriends.

Our one girlfriend, we'll call her Girlfriend B, started it off by telling us she 'has been thinking about packing an emergency kit every month and has yet to do it - now's the time!'.

Barely awake, I inquire, 'What made you think of that - the storm?'

I mean, I had heard something about a storm but really wasn't sure what the deal was.

"Yes..." Girlfriend B replies, "And then I'm going to dig a biiiig hole in the backyard!"

Girlfriend A warns her about the pool buried in her backyard and inquires if she needs a shovel.

Sister Kelly 'lol's and I tell everyone I'm just going next door if the shit hits the fan and bunk out over there (Sister Kelly is always stocked to the tits with goodies!).

Girlfriend A says she's in and will bring the wine and Girlfriend B gets on board and offers to bake a cake.

I tell everyone, 'Glad we hashed this out!'  and didn't think about it again until Timmy shared this clip...

We're totally those arses in the background.

How She'll Go To Work

makes me happy.

The only time Byrdie sees me put on make-up is before I go to work.

Which explains why she exclaimed, "I'm ready for work!" upon her completion of the make-up application seen above.

Wonderful - now off to the office with you then!

The Obvious Moments

make me happy.

You know those days when Daddy rolls in from work just as we roll home from the park.

The air is exceptionally warm for this late in October and the sun looks like it's setting on the end of street.

And with an easy toss in the air you manage to look like you're flying.

Those are my - 'LIFE. ROCKS.' moments.

Timmy's Turn

makes me happy.

It is often suggested in our culture that there is a singular, preferred way to raise a family.

While Kev and I have chosen to take that more traditional route I certainly don't believe it's the only way to raise a successful family.

In fact, I actually believe living together as husband and wife, has it's very own set of challenges.

Like the need for constant communication.  And not just communication about logistics.

No, when a man and woman decide to raise a family together there is endless communication about feelings and tones, delivery and misunderstood meanings.  Because, by now, we all know that men and women simply communicate differently.  Period.

Kev is actually very good at ensuring that, not only are these conversations are had but, that we grind them out until the air is clear and all participating parties are winning.

It is our belief that children need to see their parents play fair, listen to each other, and always speak with respect and kindness.

After all, if we can't manage to do this, be it between a husband and wife, gay or straight, living together or not, how can we ever except it of our children?

Iphone Outtakes

make me happy.

A few more pics from Wonderland because, well, those iphones take decent photos.

And yes, after 11 visits to Wonderland this summer, we finally got to ride the Leviathan.

Mom too.

It was out of this world!

And now from our iPhones...

You'd be correct if you guessed that is Blue Steel those three are pulling in the photo above.

Having Sunshine On A Cloudy Day

makes me happy.

We had an epic day at Canada's Wonderland this weekend celebrating Edison's 2nd birthday!

Leading up to the big day we had been watching the forecast like crazy, and the day of there were some serious black clouds passing overhead, but no one seemed to notice or was too concerned.

I mean, the kids have a blast anytime we go to Wonderland, then sprinkle in some balloons, a few pizzas, a bunch of their best buddies, and we're all smiling from ear to ear for hours.

That little Edison's personality is like a 1000 watt light bulb anyway, she's a beam of sunshine that could brighten any cloudy day!

Happy birthday sweetheart - we love you like mad.
